Emma's reaction

We had big news for the family so Andy drew a picture for Emma to announce our news for the first time with her reaction. She was confused and I was worried on how Andy drew me. We were pretty happy because I dreamt of this little thing just like it turned out. Let's see if this even works because I haven't done any video before.

Emma's birthday and swimming

For Emma's birthday, clear back in July, we took the kids and my parents to the new swimming pool in Rexburg. It was ridiculous how many people were there. They had just closed one of the slides because it was broken. I'm glad I wasn't there when it broke. The other one had been closed when they opened because it was too fast and people were shooting into the wall on the other side of the pool. Sounds horrific and funny at the same time. The stuff that cartoons are made of. What does this mean? All of the teenagers that would have been going down the slides were goofing around on the lazy river and being aggressive with little kids right next to them. What you have to remember is that we are in Idaho and even though it was in the end of July, it was pretty chilly when you got wet and got out of the water. Basically they didn't want to be in the water when they were floating they would avoid all falling water. I had to stay out to warm up the kids periodically. We would switch off kids when they started turning blue. It was fun, though. Definitely an experience.

April 28, 2011

This was a huge day for our family. Something that we worked for all of our time together. All those late nights, long hours, stress that could kill someone, sacrifices of time, health, sanity. It all led up to this. The day that Andy became a professional. He was sworn in as a lawyer. His parents went up to Boise with us to see it. It was really interesting. I really didn't understand when about half of the lawyers didn't stand to swear in for the federal oath. I would figure to do all you could. I guess that oath would have put them over the top? Too much pressure. I have to oath recorded if any of you are interested. Let me know.
Doesn't he look handsome and all professional like? I think I'll keep him.

Side story, I packed for both of us and his mom asked when I was going to change. That's when I realized all I had for the ceremony was the yoga pants I was in. That was when I was really sick pregnant and no one knew. Luckily his mom had an extra skirt and I stopped at the outlet mall for some shoes that I needed anyway. My cracked sneakers probably wouldn't have given the right impression. I am so proud of that man.

Starting Today 2012

I know I'm still behind but I need to put down our goals for the year on the first day of the year to see how we do.

Andy:
Finish Preach My Gospel
P90X 5 times a week
Lions win the Super Bowl (I thought we were doing goals not dreams)
More family time

Janessa:
Start reading scriptures once a day
Exercise more than vigorous housework
More quality time with the kids instead of quantity (believe me, I give them the quantity)

Emma:
Start kindergarten
Have chore chart

Jack:
Potty trained (Please, oh please...)
Start preschool
Talk more
Be more in control of breakdowns

Tiana:
Smile
Look cute
Lift head
Sit up
Crawl
Play

It looks like Tiana has her work laid out for her. I feel for her.
